The Washington Wizards are at a crossroads after changing management.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Wizards could trade “Big Panda” Bradley Beal (guard, 191 cm, 94 kg) if they decide to rebuild.
Washington shuffled its front office this summer. It fired general manager Tommy Shepherd and installed LA Clippers president Michael Winger as its new president. Winger has reportedly been given a mandate by the team’s brass to reorganize, which means he could be in for a major rebuild.
There is already speculation in the local media that Kristaps Porzingis will use his player option to stay, and there is talk of a full-scale roster overhaul. If the Wizards are going to rebuild, trading Beal is the first step. The Wizards have met with Beal and agreed that a trade would be the first step in the rebuild.
With Beal as a potential trade candidate, the league is in flux. He may not be an immediate superstar, but the team he joins could get a major boost. Any team looking to add an All-Star should keep an eye on Beal. The Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks are currently in the running, and the Miami Heat, who have previously shown interest, are also being considered.
However, it’s hard to see Milwaukee landing Beal among the current contenders. They’re expected to re-sign Khris Middleton, but their salary cap would make it difficult for them to keep him unless they sent Middleton away. There’s a good chance Washington doesn’t want Middleton in return for Beal, or if they do, they’ll have to offer a lot of first-round picks, which they nearly exhausted in acquiring Jrue Holiday.
New York and Miami have enough salary cap space and picks to make a deal for Beal. New York has Jaylen Brunson and Julius Randle, so adding Beal to the mix would be a powerhouse move. New York has the most picks in the Eastern Conference. If they were interested in trading Beal, they could offer Imanual Quinckley and a pick to jump in.
Same goes for Miami. The Heat have already shown interest in acquiring the All-Star, and have reportedly put virtually everyone on the trade block except Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. If Miami were to bundle Tyler Hiro and another player and offer multiple picks, they could have what Washington is looking for. Hiro has proven himself to be a solid centerpiece for the team.메이저놀이터
Meanwhile, Beal’s contract is up for grabs in the 2026-2027 season. His salary for that season is categorized as a player option. He became an unrestricted free agent after the 2021-2022 season. He re-signed with Washington in the summer of 2022. Washington gave him a massive five-year, $251 million contract. That’s over $50 million per year, and he’s in the first year of that deal.
