The South Korea U-20 soccer team, led by head coach Kim Eun-joong, has reached the quarterfinals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The team defeated Nigeria 1-0 in double overtime in the quarterfinals at the Santiago del Estero Stadium in Argentina on Friday (June 5).
This is the second consecutive quarterfinal appearance for the national team after finishing as runners-up at the 2019 tournament in Poland. This is the fifth time South Korean men’s soccer has reached the quarterfinals of a FIFA-organized tournament, following the 1983 and 2019 editions, the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup and the 2012 London Olympics.
After a scoreless first and second 90 minutes, the national team scored the only goal in the first five minutes of extra time when Choi Seok-hyun (Dankook University) headed in a corner kick from Lee Seung-won (Gangwon).메이저놀이터
