Ha-seong Kim (28-San Diego Padres) is tied for 10th in the National League (NL) in stolen bases.
Kim started at first base and second base for the Padres against the New York Mets at Petco Park in San Diego, California, on Aug. 8.메이저놀이터
Trailing 0-1 in the bottom of the first inning, Kim drew a straight-up walk against Mets starter Justin Verlander. After Juan Soto and Fernando Tatis walked to load the bases, Kim stole second on a wild pitch from Manny Machado to advance to third. It was a smart steal that completely took away his timing and allowed him to slide into second base with ease. Kim scored the tying run on Machado’s double.
With his 16th stolen base of the season, Kim is tied for 10th in the NL with Jake Pralley and T.J. Friedle (Cincinnati Reds). He needs just seven more steals to surpass the single-season record for most stolen bases by a Korean major leaguer (22) set by Shin-Soo Choo in 2010 with Cleveland.
In his second at-bat with runners on first and second in the bottom of the third inning, Kim took a three-pitch curveball from Verlander and made a sharp contact, but was left stranded at third base. His third at-bat in the bottom of the fourth was a five-pitch strikeout.
Meanwhile, San Diego gave up a run in the top of the first inning, but came right back with two runs in the bottom of the inning and now leads the Mets 3-2 in the top of the fifth.
