Ko Jin-young, Kim Hyo-joo, Jeon In-ji, and Choi Hye-jin will participate in the 2023 Hanwha Life Plus International Crown (winning prize of $500,000), a national competition on the LPGA Tour.
The tournament will be held on the 5th (Korean time) at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, California, USA.
The biennial tournament was last held in Korea in 2018, was suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and will be held again this year.
The eight countries participating in the tournament are determined by combining the rankings of the top four players in each country based on the Rolex Women’s World Golf Ranking on November 21 last year.
The 32 players participating in the tournament were selected based on the Rolex Rankings announced on April 3 this year right after the DIO Implant LA Open. If there is a vacancy among the top 4 players, the next ranked player will participate.
Each country will play a four-ball match (Days 1-3) on Days 1-3, each playing with their own ball. Afterwards, the 1st and 2nd places in each group advance to the semi-finals (quarterfinals). On the morning of the final day, two semi-finals will be played.ㅋㅋㅋ벳
The semi-finals will consist of two singles matches and one foursomes match. The winners of the semi-finals advance to the finals in the afternoon. The losing country will face off in the 3rd and 4th place match. The final match will be played in the same way as the semi-final match.
In Korea, Jinyoung Ko, Hyoju Kim, Inji Jeon, and Hyejin Choi will compete. In the US, it stars Nelly Korda, Lexi Thompson, Lilia Boo and Danielle Kang.
Korea won the championship by beating the United States and England in the previous tournament, 2018. In 2016, they finished runner-up to the United States.
