Jung Yerim reflects on her season.
After making his debut in the 2020-2021 season, Jung (175 cm, F) received playing time in his rookie year. He played more in his second year. He played in all 30 games, averaging 25 minutes per game and averaging 5.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists.
And last season, in 2022-2023, he had the best year of his career. He averaged 11.4 points. He also grabbed 6.3 rebounds and dished out 1.7 assists per game. It’s clear that Jung has come a long way.
However, she wasn’t satisfied with her performance. Reflecting on last season, she said, “After last season, I thought I wasn’t good enough. On paper, I can say that I grew. But if you look at it in detail, it’s not the case,” he said.
“I made a lot of mistakes. My mindset and mentality were shaky at the beginning of the season, and I couldn’t control that. We were not able to control those things, and we were passive in the match.”
“In the second half of the season, we struggled physically, so our offense was not good enough. I also lacked concentration,” he said of his shortcomings.
“That’s why I really wanted to grow more in the next season. First of all, I lost the fight because of my lack of strength. I’m focusing on that part. I’m also doing a lot of physical exercises,” he said.
“I want to improve my defense, and I want to defend the opponent’s ace. On offense, I want to improve my three-point shooting percentage. I’m confident in passing now. But if my shots go in, it will be easier to break through,” he added.
This season, Hana OneQ added veteran Kim Jong-yeon (179 cm, F) to its roster. Kim is a veteran player who represents the WKBL. His roommate for the Taebaek training camp is Jung Yerim, who has championship experience and will be a great mental support for the players.메이저놀이터
“This time, (Kim) is sharing a room with my sister. She’s really good at giving advice from her experience, and that’s really helpful. Especially, she cares a lot about taking care of her body and is very knowledgeable. When I was younger, I was ignorant about such things, but thanks to her, I’m learning a lot. (Laughs) She’s very supportive,” she said of Kim Jong-un.
Finally, Jung said, “My goal is simple. I want to hear that I have grown more than last season, and I know my deficiencies from last season, and now I want to fill them and become a bigger player, and I will do my best to do that,” she concluded the interview.
