The Lotte Giants, coached by Larry Sutton, will take on the Samsung Lions of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League on Sept. 9 at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu.
Lotte urgently needs to turn things around. It’s on the line in the ninth inning. With 29 wins (22 losses) on the season, they are mired in a four-game losing streak with 30 games to go. In particular, they lost both games against KT Wiz at home from June 6 to 8.
Lotte’s lineup will be Kim Min-seok (center field), Jeon Jun-woo (designated hitter), Ahn Chi-hong (second base), Jack Rex (left field), Yoon Dong-hee (right field), Ko Seung-min (first base), Park Seung-wook (shortstop), Kim Min-soo (third base), and Jung Jung-geun (catcher). Noh Jin-hyuk, who withdrew due to back pain the day before, was left out of the lineup. “We’ll rest him today and focus on his treatment and recovery,” Sutton said before the game.

Before the game, Samsung coach Park Jin-man said, “The batters are getting on base well, but they lack concentration. “It’s not that we’re not hitting well,” he said, “it’s just that we’re not in a good rhythm. I’m sure they’ll give us a good flow today.”
